Piglet's Big Movie (2003)

Piglet's Big Movie is a 2003 American animated film produced by DisneyToon Studios, and released by Walt Disney Pictures in April 2003. It is based upon the characters in the Winnie-the-Pooh books written by A. A. Milne. It is the second in a recent series of theatrically released Winnie the Pooh films, preceded by The Tigger Movie, released in 2000, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and followed by Pooh's Heffalump Movie (2005). In the film, Piglet is ashamed of being small after believing that his friends belittle his presence—and wanders off into the Hundred Acre Woods—leading his friends in a search party to find him.

The three flashback sequences are the first adaptations of original A.A. Milne stories since The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore. Edited to make Piglet the hero of the stories and to conform to the characters' idiosyncrasies as Disney has portrayed them, they nevertheless retain much of Milne's original plot. In this movie, Pooh changes the name of Pooh Corner to Pooh and Piglet Corner, something that he was originally going to do, but the name did not sound small or much like a corner, which was in fact what it was. Besides the Carly Simon songs, Sherman Brothers music is also featured.

In the Hundred Acre Wood, Eeyore (Peter Cullen), Rabbit (Ken Sansom), Tigger and Pooh (Jim Cummings) are working on a plan to extract honey from a beehive. The plan involves getting Dyaneza to convey to a new hive by convincing them that Eeyore is a bee. Piglet (John Fiedler) comes up to them during the attempt, but is effectively told that he is too small to help. The plan goes awry when the bees do not fall for it, but Piglet manages to divert the bees into the new hive using a funnel and then seals the hive shut, trapping the bees.

However, no one has realized what Piglet had done to help out with the plan, having Piglet feeling uncared for; Piglet sadly wanders away. Eventually, Eeyore, Pooh, Rabbit, and Tigger notice that Piglet is missing, assuming that he has been scared off by the bees, and decide to find him. They are joined by Roo (Nikita Hopkins), and together the five friends search for Piglet. The search party is aided by Piglets' scrapbook, in which he has drawn pictures of the adventures that he has shared with his friends. The characters use the pictures to tell the stories depicted therein.

One of the stories told is how Piglet bravely met Kanga and Roo when they moved to the 100 Acre Wood, and a second story is the expedition to find the North Pole, where Piglet uses a long stick to save Roo (who has fallen in the river). His heroism is overlooked when he gives the stick to Pooh and tries to catch Roo, who has been catapulted into the air during the rescue attempt. Christopher Robin (Tom Wheatley) arrives as Roo is caught by Kanga (Kath Soucie) and then credits Pooh with finding the North Pole (the stick he is holding in his paws). Back in the present, the friends regret not sharing the praise with Piglet.

A third story told is the building of The House at Pooh Corner. Here Piglet comes up with the idea to build Eeyore a house and he and Pooh are joined by Tigger to build it. Tigger and Pooh do most of the work, whilst Piglet, unintentionally, gets in the way. The final house, however, is a disaster, but Tigger and Pooh go off to tell Eeyore about the house. Unfortunately, the house is being held together by Piglet, who eventually loses his grip and the house collapses. Tigger and Pooh go to inform Eeyore of the bad news, but Piglet arrives to tell them all that the house is fine. It is revealed that he rebuilt the house himself, but the location remains as Pooh Corner, since Pooh "would call it 'Pooh and Piglet Corner', if 'Pooh Corner' didn't sound better, which it does, being smaller and more like a corner".

Back in the present, an argument between Rabbit and Tigger ends with the scrapbook falling apart and then falling into the river. Without their guide, the friends return to Piglets house and, after a time, start to draw new pictures of Piglet and his adventures, some of which are new. Then, the friends again resolve to find their missing Piglet and go back out to find him. They come across several pictures from the scrapbook, which have floated downstream and then find the books bindings, suspended on a broken hollow old log, overhanging a raging waterfall. Pooh goes to retrieve it, but falls into a hole in the log. The others try to reach him, but the rescue attempt is just too short. Just as they ask who can help, Piglet arrives and attempts to help haul Pooh to safety, just as the log begins to collapse.

Eeyore, Rabbit, Roo and Tigger are knocked back by a strong current of water along the log and now stand by the edge of the ravine, next to the waterfall, but the log inside which Pooh and Piglet were trapped has fallen far into the waters below. The survivors begin to cry but are soon joined by a sad-looking Pooh and Piglet, who have managed to escape. Happy, the friends take Piglet to show him their new drawings, including a large one of Piglet dressed as a knight in shining armor. The next day they hold a party, but Pooh interrupts, taking Piglet to Eeyores' house, where he has changed the sign to read "Pooh and Piglet Corner"; "the least [they] could do for a little Piglet, who has done such big things!".

At the beginning of the closing credits, Carly Simon reprises in a live-action sequence the song "With a Few Good Friends", which originally appeared during the scene showing the building of the House at Pooh (and Piglet) Corner, before it ends with the music from the rest of the film.

Pooh's Heffalump Movie (2005)

Pooh's Heffalump Movie is a 2005 Winnie-the-Pooh film, released by Walt Disney Pictures.

Winnie the Pooh and his friends hear a strange noise and find a set of large, perfectly circular footprints in the Hundred Acre Wood (and, in Tigger's case, a major earthquake in the middle of the night, causing his house to be severely damaged). They jump to the conclusion that the noise and prints are from a heffalump, and Rabbit organizes an expedition to go try to catch it; a disappointed Roo is told to stay behind, as everyone believes the expedition is too dangerous for one as young as he.

Roo slips out on his own in search of the heffalump, and soon finds one; a playful young four-footed creature named Heffridge Trumpler Brompet Heffalump IV (nicknamed "Lumpy"), coloured lavender and having a British accent and a trunk like an elephant, but being not much larger than Roo. Roo is afraid at first, but the two quickly become friends and play. After a while, Lumpy hears his mother calling for him to come home. Roo wants Lumpy to come home with him to meet all of his friends first, and they head towards the Hundred Acre Wood. When they get to the fence, Lumpy suddenly stops; thinking that the "creatures" that live there are scary. Roo reassures him and they return to the Hundred Acre Wood, which is deserted, as everyone else is still out searching for the heffalump. Roo and Lumpy soon become great friends and find that they're not so different after all. While playing, the two friends hear Lumpy's mother calling him to come home again. Lumpy and Roo search for his mother, but she is nowhere to be seen. Lumpy uses his trunk to call to her, but doesn't work. After hours of searching, Lumpy assumes that they will never find her, and starts to cry. Roo sings a part of a song to Lumpy, that his mother sang to him earlier in the film; which gives Roo an idea, they could go find his mother, and see if she can help Lumpy.

They soon find Kanga and the rest of the gang. Rabbit thinks that Lumpy has captured Roo, and the gange starts to chase Lumpy through the traps that were set up earlier in the film. All fails as Lumpy escapes through all the traps that they set up. Running after Lumpy, Roo gets caught in the last trap. A frightened Lumpy keeps on running, and escapes into the woods. Roo manages to get out of the trap, and runs to find Lumpy. He quickly sees that he is trapped in a giant cage. Lumpy madly tells his friend that he had broke his promise; as Roo had said before that his friends wouldn't be frightening. Roo makes many attempts to break the cage, but all fails to work. Roo apologizes for everything, and explains that it is all his fault. Roo looks up at the cage, and soon sees that the only way to free his friend, is to untie the rope holding the cage together. He climbs all the way to the top. He unties the rope, and frees Lumpy, who is very happy that Roo had rescued him, and Lumpy and Roo hug. Kanga, who had saw the whole thing, peeks from behind a tree, and is amazed what Roo had done. Then Rabbit, Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet come running around the corner, still thinking that Lumpy has captured Roo. They all lasso Lumpy. Roo jumps on Lumpy's head, and yells at them to stop, and explains to his friends that Heffalumps aren't scary nor are they mean. While Roo is explaining this, Lumpy starts to fall down a ditch, and sends Roo flying in the air and lands into a pile of giant logs, reaching down to 50 feet. Everyone, including Lumpy, try to save him, but nothing works. Lumpy then gets an idea, and tries to use his call to get his mother to come and save Roo. After a few tries, he finally gets his call right, and his mother comes and saves Roo. Rabbit apologizes to Lumpy for his behaviour, and he forgives him. Lumpy's mother is very proud that he found his call, and they hug. Pooh then makes a statement to Rabbit why the heffalump was in The Hundred Acre Wood; she was looking for her baby. Lumpy's mother tells him it's time to go home. Lumpy says goodbye to his friend, but Roo has a better idea; He pleads to his Mom, "Just a bit longer?" and the movie is ended with Roo, and Lumpy playing together. The end credits show that Lumpy, Roo, Tigger, Rabbit, Eeyore, Piglet, and even Christopher Robin are best friends now.

Paycheck (2003)

Paycheck is a 2003 film adaptation of the short story of the same name by science fiction writer Philip K. Dick. The film was directed by John Woo and stars Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman and Aaron Eckhart. Paul Giamatti and Colm Feore also appear.

Paycheck is Woo's last American film to date.

In the near future, Michael Jennings is a reverse engineer; he analyzes his clients' competitors' technology and recreates it, often adding improvements beyond the original specifications. To protect his clients' intellectual property and himself, Jennings undertakes a memory wipe to remove knowledge of his engineering with the aid of his friend Shorty.

Jennings is approached by his old college roommate, James Rethrick, the CEO of the successful technology company Allcom. Rethrick proposes a lengthy three-year reverse engineering job to Jennings, requiring him to live on Allcom's secured campus until its conclusion but rewarding him handsomely with company stock. Jennings agrees, and after arranging for his long-term absence, arrives at Allcom, turns in his personal possessions, and is given a brief tour of the facility where he meets and flirts with botanist Dr. Rachel Porter. He is injected with a long-term memory marker for the post-job memory wipe.

Jennings regains his memory three years later at the conclusion of the memory wipe, with Rethrick thanking him for a successful job. On returning home, Jennings finds that while the Allcom stock has become quite valuable, he had signed away his share near the end of his tenure. Furthermore, he finds that his personal possessions have been replaced with an envelope containing a random assortment of everyday items. He is soon captured by the FBI on charges related to the death of physicist William Dekker. Jennings is able to escape custody, finding that the items in the envelope can be used at the right time to evade capture. After warning Shorty of his plight, he finds the items pointing him to a cafe meeting with Porter. Rethrick, who has been watching Jennings' movements, discovers a message to Porter of this meeting and sends a body double to take her place to try to recover the envelope. The real Porter shows up and helps Jennings to escape from both the FBI and Rethrick's men.

They take shelter at a local school, examining the remaining items in the envelope while Porter tries to convince Jennings of the relationship they shared during his tenure at Allcom. One of the stamps holds a microdot that, on enlargement, reveals several pictures taken from a machine's display showing Allcom becoming financially successful with a device that can see the future, but ultimately leading to political strife and nuclear war. Jennings realizes he must have built this device using Dekker's knowledge, and on realizing the horrors that will come, prepared the envelope using the forecasts from the machine to allow his future self to return to Allcom and destroy the unit. Furthermore, he likely would have rigged the device to malfunction to prevent Rethrick to foresee his actions.

Jennings and Porter return to Allcom and make their way to the machine room undetected. Jennings discovers his defective circuit and replaces it, while Porter rigs the machine to explode in a few minutes. Jennings uses the machine one last time, seeing a vision of himself being shot by an FBI agent in the catwalks above the machine. Soon, Rethrick's men have stormed the room, and after a brief firefight, Jennings and Porter escape to the catwalks. Rethrick is waiting there, holding them at gunpoint, the same tableau Jennings previously saw. When Jennings' watch, taken from the envelope, beeps, Jennings ducks in time to avoid the FBI agent's bullet which ends up killing Rethrick. The machine is destroyed, and Jennings and Porter escape from the FBI in the chaos. When the FBI agents arrive and investigate, they take sympathy and report Jennings killed in the destruction.

In the film's conclusion, Jennings, Porter, and Shorty have opened a greenhouse nursery. Jennings recalls a fortune cookie note from the envelope, and discovers one last act he had done with the machine, predicting the results of a multi-million dollar lottery and leaving the winning ticket in Porter's birdcage.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010)

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a 2010 sword-and-sorcery action film written by Jordan Mechner, Boaz Yakin, Doug Miro, and Carlo Bernard; directed by Mike Newell; produced by Jerry Bruckheimer; and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is a retelling of the 2003 video game of the same name, developed and released by Ubisoft Montreal.

The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan, Gemma Arterton as Princess Tamina, Ben Kingsley as Nizam, and Alfred Molina as Sheik Amar.

The film has the same title as the video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and is primarily based on it. Elements from Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, two other titles from the Prince of Persia video game franchise, are also incorporated. However, apart from the basic elements such as treachery and the Sands of Time, the film's plot is quite distinct from that of the video game franchise. For example, the film is focused on stopping the antagonist from releasing the Sands, whereas in the game the Prince fights to seal the sands back in the hourglass.

Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal), an orphan in the Persian Empire adopted by king Sharaman (Ronald Pickup), his royal-blooded foster brothers, Tus (Richard Coyle) and Garsiv (Toby Kebbell), and his uncle, Nizam (Ben Kingsley) are planning an attack on the sacred city of Alamut, which is believed to be selling weapons to Persia's enemies. Dastan leads a successful surprise attack on the city and after a fight he acquires a unique dagger. Alamut's princess, Tamina (Gemma Arterton), is arrested and agrees to marry Tus in order to achieve peace after noticing the dagger in Dastan's possession.

Sharaman reproaches Tus for attacking the city and suggests that Dastan, instead of Tus, should marry Tamina. Dastan unknowingly presents a poisoned robe, given to him by Tus, to his father, who dies upon donning it. Dastan is blamed for the king's murder and flees Alamut with Tamina. In their first camp, Tamina attempts to kill the prince and recover the dagger, during which Dastan finds out that the dagger can reverse time and only the one who activated it and holds it is aware of what happened. During their journey, the duo meets a shady ostrich racing-organizer and tax-averse entrepreneur, Sheik Amar (Alfred Molina), and his knife-throwing African friend Seso (Steve Toussaint). Dastan offers Tamina up as a slave in return for supplies; however, Amar betrays him because he recognizes him as the murderer of the king, for whom there is an "obscene" reward being offered. Dastan and Tamina escape and go to Avrat for Sharaman's funeral. Dastan attempts to convince Nizam that he did not kill his father. Dastan discovers that Tamina has taken the Dagger; however, he then notices Nizam's hands are burned by the same poison put on the robe that killed his father. Nizam claims that he removed the cloak off his brother at the time, but Dastan had already seen that he never touched the cloak, and he discovers that he may have handled it before. Garsiv and the city guards appear and attack Dastan and he is forced to escape.

Dastan catches up with Tamina and explains that Nizam was behind the murder. Once Tamina finally explains everything about the Dagger, Dastan realizes why Nizam wants the Dagger of Time: to use it with the massive Sandglass to go back in time and undo saving Sharaman from a lion so he could become king. He fabricated the false allegations that Alamut had been dealing weapons to Persia's enemies so that he would have the opportunity to search the city for the Sandglass. However, opening the Sandglass will trigger an apocalyptic sandstorm that would end the world. Meanwhile, Nizam tries to convince Garsiv and Tus that Dastan is trying to overthrow them and should be killed immediately; when this fails, he hires the Hassansins to slay Dastan.

Dastan and Tamina are again captured by Sheik Amar and Seso, seeking to rebuild his ruined business by turning them in for the enormous bounty. But that night, when everyone is asleep, the Hassansin leader, Zolm (Gísli Örn Garðarsson) attacks the group by controlling a number of vipers. Many of the group die, but Dastan uses the Dagger and manages to kill all the snakes and save everyone. The next day, the pair, accompanied by Amar and Seso, travels to a secret sanctuary in the mountains near India, where it's possible to seal away the Dagger. However, they run into Garsiv's men. Dastan manages to persuade his brother that he is innocent, only for Garsiv to be fatally wounded by a Hassansin. The Hassansins attack, killing most of the group, while Dastan and Tamina sneak away to the secret cave where they can hide the Dagger. Tamina says she is ready to give up her life to protect the Dagger, but Dastan stops her and tells her that he is not ready for her to die. They are found and attacked and Zolm manages to snatch the Dagger of Time from Tamina. However, Dastan is saved from the last Hassansin by Garsiv, who then dies of his wounds.

The group returns to Alamut to reveal the truth about Nizam and the Dagger to Tus. They learn that the dagger is being guarded by Setam, the Hassansin who killed Garsiv. Seso volunteers for the task of defeating Setam and recovering the dagger. He defeats Setam in a duel but is himself mortally wounded. He manages to fling the dagger to Dastan before he succumbs to his wounds. Dastan confronts Tus and explains the dagger's mechanics to him and then stabs the dagger into his heart, killing himself; Tus brings Dastan back to life by rewinding time and realizes his brother has been innocent all along. Soon after, however, Nizam arrives and kills Tus, leaving his Hassansin guard, Ghazab, to kill Dastan. The Dagger is once again in Nizam's hands, but Dastan manages to defeat Ghazab with Tamina's help. Nizam goes to the Sandglass caves beneath Alamut, as Dastan and Tamina take a more secret route: an underground tunnel. After a short battle with Zolm, Tamina grabs one of Zolm's snakes and stabs its fangs into Zolm's eyes, fatally wounding him and sending him plummeting to his death in a chasm. Dastan and Tamina kiss for the first time. They then reach Nizam before he can pierce the Sandglass with the Dagger, but he knocks Tamina and Dastan over the edge. Dastan grabs hold of Tamina; knowing he cannot stop Nizam and also save her, Tamina tells Dastan to let her go because it is his destiny to save them, but Dastan refuses to let her go. Tamina professes her love for Dastan, wishing they could have been together, and lets go, plummeting to her death and sacrificing herself to stop Nizam. Heartbroken, Dastan watches her fall. Driven to fight on, Dastan manages to pull himself up just as Nizam stabs the Sandglass with the Dagger. Dastan grabs hold and opens the Dagger, rather than activating it, causing the Sands of Time to flow through freely, rather than destroying the world. Time reverses to when Dastan first obtained the Dagger, now fully aware of all that has occurred.

Dastan stops the siege of Alamut, revealing Nizam's treachery; Nizam attacks Dastan, but is killed by Tus. After apologizing for the ransacking of her city, Tus suggests that perhaps Tamina should become Dastan's wife as a sign of good will since he was the "conqueror and savior of her city" as Tus described him. Prince Dastan returns the Dagger of Time to Tamina, which changes her view of him. Later on, the two take a walk together, and Dastan and Tamina have a small conversation, in which Dastan hints at his knowledge of the Dagger's powers and tells Tamina that he looks forward to a future with her.

Paranormal Activity 2 (2010)

Paranormal Activity 2 is a 2010 American supernatural horror film directed by Tod Williams and written by Michael R. Perry. The film is a parallel prequel to the 2007 film Paranormal Activity, beginning two months before and following up with the events depicted in the original film. It was released in theaters at midnight on October 22, 2010 in the United States, Mexico, Poland, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Canada.[3]

In 2006, an apparent burglary occurs at the home of Kristi (Sprague Grayden) and Dan Rey (Brian Boland). Every room is ransacked except for that of their infant son Hunter. The only thing stolen is a necklace that Kristi's sister, Katie (Katie Featherston), had given to her. Following the incident, Dan installs a number of security cameras throughout the house.

Kristi and Ali (Dan's daughter from a previous marriage) start to hear noises and see items fall or move on their own in the days ahead. Martine (Vivis Cortez), the family housekeeper and nanny, feels increasingly nervous and attempts to cleanse the house of "evil spirits." Dan is uncomfortable with these beliefs and actions and fires her after catching her burning sage. Kristi talks to Katie about the events in the home, and reveals that the girls were tormented by a demon or unknown spirit when they were children, but Katie cuts off the conversation saying it's better not to discuss such things.

Ali and her boyfriend Brad conduct a Ouija board session while Ali's parents are gone, and while they joke around with it the board spells "Hunt" before the footage is cut off. After the footage is cut off, the security camera footage shows Ali asleep on the couch. She is awakened by a loud noise and she starts to go upstairs until she hears loud knocking on the front door. Ali opens the door, walks out and the door violently slams behind her. Later that evening security cameras capture footage of Hunter being pulled out of his crib. When Kristi and Dan come back home, Hunter is back in his crib and Ali comes from the front door. She starts to explain what happened until her dad yelled at her and ordered her to not talk about the happenings in the house.

Meanwhile, Ali (Molly Ephraim) begins investigating the mysterious happenings in the house. She reads online that a human can make a deal with a demon for wealth or power by forfeiting the life of a firstborn son. She realizes that until Hunter, there had not been a male child born in Kristi and Katie's family since the time of their great-great grandmother. Ali concludes that perhaps a demon is tormenting the family in order to claim the boy for its own.

One night, the family's loyal dog Abby is attacked and pulled violently off camera by unseen forces, and apparently suffers a seizure. Panicking, Dan and Ali take the dog to the vet, leaving Kristi alone with Hunter. While checking on the baby later that night, she notices a light in his bedroom flickers off. As she turns the light back on, she is dragged by an unseen force out of the room and halfway down the stairs before she is released. Kristi frantically runs upstairs into Hunter's room but is once again violently dragged downstairs, this time all the way into the basement, where security footage indicates she remains for over an hour. Eventually the basement door is seen opening and a seemingly possessed Kristi walks out of the basement and through the living room.

The following day a frazzled Dan rushes out to an important work meeting, leaving Ali at home with Kristi, who will not get out of bed. As Ali hears faint knocking sounds on the basement door, she notices that the inside of the door to the basement is covered in scratches. She also sees a word scratched into the door (not recognizing the word as "Meus", Latin for "Mine"). After being drawn upstairs by strange noises, Ali finds Kristi in Hunter's room. Ali frantically calls her father, begging him to come home to deal with Kristi. Ali goes upstairs and sees Hunter crying. She goes over and Kristi aggressively tells Ali not to touch Hunter. When he arrives, Ali, who has now watched the security tapes from the night before, begs him to view the footage of Kristi's attack. After watching the tape, he immediately calls Martine for help. Martine arrives and prepares a cross that will exorcise the demon, leaving Kristi with no memory of having been possessed. After Dan tries one more time to talk to an unresponsive Kristi, Martine says that they will have to perform an exorcism on Kristi to pass the demon onto another blood relative. Dan and Ali argue over the ethics of his plan to transfer the demon to Katie so that his wife and son will be saved. Although Ali pleads with him, begging him not to because it is not fair to Katie, Dan sees no other way to save his wife and son.

When Dan tries to use the cross on Kristi, she attacks him, and the lights in the house go out. They turn the hand-held camera's night vision on, and find that Kristi has disappeared, along with Hunter. Furniture begins toppling over and the chandeliers in the dining area shake. Dan chases Kristi into the basement where she attacks him. He touches her with the cross, causing her to collapse to the floor, the camera facing the other way as the ground rumbles. Inhuman growls and roars are heard, until finally the shaking suddenly stops. The next scene shows the electricity turning back on, then the other scene is Dan putting Kristi to bed and then burning a photo of a young Katie to pass the demon to her.

Three weeks later, on September 18, Katie visits and asks how things are in Kristi's house; hearing that there have been no further issues, she mentions that strange things have now begun happening at her home. We see Katie return home, where she finds that Micah has purchased a new video camera (this scene consists of approximately the first 2 minutes of the previous film). The action then cuts to October 9, the night after Micah's death. As Dan watches TV, Katie, now possessed and covered in blood, appears in the living room and breaks Dan's neck. She climbs the stairs and kills Kristi in Hunter's room, hurling her against the camera and taking the baby. Katie then leaves the room, cradling Hunter with a satisfied look on her face. The screen fades to black as Hunter's crying turns to laughter.

The film ends with text stating that Ali returned from a school trip to find the bodies of Daniel and Kristi Rey on October 12, 2006, and that Katie and Hunter's whereabouts remain unknown.

The movie is about Gattu (Akshay Kumar) who is living the life his father chose for him. When Gattu was young, racism was a big issue. On his birthday, the Whites broke his home window and yelled "We don't want you in our country." At this point, his father, Gurtej Singh Kahlon (Rishi Kapoor)had become fed up with the Whites, and grabbed a pot and almost hit one of the Whites with it. He was arrested soon after, but then released. A few weeks later, Gattu's uncle was killed in a racial attack. This changed Gattu's father, and made him a kind of leader in the predominately asian area of Southall in West London. He made a lot of changes that stopped racism where he lived. Gattu had always listened to his father, which made his siblings resent him. They were not allowed to do what they wanted, and had to be very traditional Sikhs. Gattu had always been good at cricket, though his dad would never let him become a member of the British team. When tryouts come out, Gattu's siblings convinced him to tryout. If he gets on the team, their father might be able to realize that the world isn't as racist anymore as it used to be. They are able to hide the fact the Gattu is on the team, but their father eventually finds out. Seeing his son on a team he despises gave Gurtej heart failure, and he ends up in the E.R. He disgraces Gattu, but Gattu still plays cricket anyway. He is deeply hurt to be disgraced by his father, but he also loves cricket, and hopes to change his father. The people of Southall all come together, and try to convince Gurtej that it is okay to be a cricket player for England. He locks himself inside the house, but his wife is still with him. She tells him that she has never acted as a mother, only a wife, and she often forgot she was both. She turned on the T.V., wanting to see her son fulfill his dream. Gurtej watches with her, and realizes how badly he has treated his son. The family comes back in the house, and Gurtej requests for one of them to drive him to the stadium. Gattu is playing poorly, because he is so upset that his father disgraced him. Only at the last ball of the game, Gattu manages to win the championship for England. His father compares his bowling to Late Lala Amar Nath. His father apologizes to him, and all Gattu's siblings are now able to pursue their dreams.
