Prince (2010)

Prince (English: It's Showtime!; Hindi: प्रिंस) is a 2010 Bollywood film directed by Kookie V Gulati, produced by Kumar S Taurani and starring Vivek Oberoi, Aruna Shields, Nandana Sen and Neeru Bajwa in pivotal roles. The film was originally titled as Prince of Thieves and then Prince It's Showtime, the latter of which is still sometimes used to refer to the film. This film is the directorial debut of Kookie V Gulati. The music of the film is composed by Sachin Gupta, with the lyrics penned by Sameer. The film was released on 9 April 2010. The film was one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year after My Name Is Khan due to its highly rated music, excellent promotion and a series of box office failures like Sadiyaan, Hum Tum Aur Ghost and other films which did not manage to run decently at the theaters for even a week. The story is inspired from the Hollywood film Hardwired.
Upon release, Prince opened reasonably well but crashed badly in the second week and was declared a flop at the box office. The film clashed at the box office with several other films, including Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, as well as the Indian release of two major Hollywood films, The Hurt Locker and Clash of the Titans, and also faced competition from the Indian Premier League. The film was praised for its stunning graphics, highly stylish presentation and realistic acting of Vivek Oberoi, which was praised by almost all the critics.
